Marufuji Winery "Rubaiyat Koshu Kamoshi" 2023

Rubaiyat Koshu Kamoshi takes the indigenous grape, Koshu, and ferments it on its skins, giving an orange wine from a grape far more often made as a crisp white. The nose gives orange, fresh dill, and jasmine tea; the palate turns to apricot, lemon, and a clean thread of anise.

Best served at 9–12 °C, dry and medium-bodied, its tannins light enough that the wine sits nearer a white than a red.
