Rue de Vin "Merlot" 2023

Merlot 2023 is an unfiltered red, grown on slopes above the Chikuma River that were apple orchards before the vines went in. Black cherry, black berry, and dark chocolate as it opens, then cranberry, plum, blueberry, and nutmeg follow.

Best served at 15–18 °C, dry, with weight, acid, and tannin all mid-register, this Merlot is balanced rather than emphatic.
